The JGB-W Series Imperforate Coating Machine (also known as a Solid Pan Coater) is an advanced, fully enclosed coating system developed by Jianpai Tech. Building upon the proven technology of our JGB series, this model features a non-porous (imperforate) drum structure, making it the ultimate solution for coating both conventional tablets and micro-pellets larger than 0.6mm.

Engineered for strict cGMP compliance, it is widely used in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries for sugar coating, organic film coating, water-soluble film coating, and controlled-release applications.

Innovative Air Distribution Technology

Advanced Submerged Air Plenum System
The JGB-W stands out with its highly adaptable air distribution system, designed to handle different material characteristics perfectly:

  • Interchangeable Airflow: The inlet and exhaust pipes feature a specialized structure that allows them to be interchanged based on your specific process requirements.

  • Submerged Duckbill Air Distributors (Plenums): Instead of blowing air from the outside, the machine uses customized “duckbill” shaped air plenums that plunge directly into the tablet bed. Depending on the process, these air distributors can be dynamically inserted into or lifted away from the tumbling materials.

How the Solid Pan Coating Process Works
Inside the clean, enclosed imperforate drum, tablet cores or pellets tumble smoothly along the spiral guide plates. The PLC system automatically sprays the coating medium according to precise recipe parameters.

Simultaneously, hot air is introduced through the central air duct. Instead of passing through a perforated drum, the clean hot air is forced directly through the tumbling material bed and is intelligently collected and exhausted by the submerged duckbill air plenums. This intimate air-to-product contact ensures that the sprayed coating medium dries rapidly and uniformly, forming a dense, smooth, and flawless film or sugar layer.
